The Radial Bat was born of the challenge to design a baseball bat made of wood that maximizes the beneficial characteristics already inherent in wood and is as durable as any metal bat or composite bat without the “trampoline effect” advantages. We wanted to make a wood bat with combined strength for safety reasons and tighter wood grain for superior performance.
The Radial Bat design incorporates the use of twelve wedges of wood that run the entire length of the bat. The wedges come together at the center of the bat as a group. The grain is positioned to be tight all the way around the bat, eliminating the need for the hitter to worry about the positioning of the trademark. The use of 12 wedges insures that at least 3 wedges make contact with the ball on each hit, ensuring consistent strength throughout the bat, maximizing durability and providing superior performance for the hitter.

Each Radial Bat consists of twelve wedges that are flawlessly milled with our patent pending methods. These wedges are carefully inspected to detect any flaws that would be hidden in a traditional wood bat. They are also weighed so that the bat being built has precisely the weight and balance desired. After passing this rigorous inspection, each wedge is perfectly aligned and joined to create a billet with tight grain on the entire surface. The billet is then turned on a lathe similar to a traditional wood bat.

The omni-directional, tight grain Radial Bat design ensures that all hits are struck with the firmest wood. The wedges come together at the center of the bat as a group. In this configuration, they support each other and prevent any single wedge from failing. This provides a bat more durable than a traditional wood bat. Consequently, Radial Bat has a warranty on all Radial Bats.
Radial Bat’s patent pending design also enables the unique ability to control the weight, allowing Radial Bat to make youth bats with drop weights consistent with those of metal bats or composite bats, and significantly lighter than traditional wood bats.
Radial Bats can have drop weights of -8, -9, and even -10; providing young players who have not yet grown, the opportunity to have a wood bat that they can handle. This is especially important for young players making the important transition from metal to solid wood. We believe that all players should master hitting with wood, and the Radial Bat makes that possible for all youth players.
Radial Bat can also produce significantly heavier wood bats that range from +1 to +8. These heavier bats are great training tools that don’t alter your form, since they have the same shape and balance as our regular models.
